Piran: Day 3

Third day of Piran!

A lot has happened today in the sense of knowledge gained in class. Despite the rain and a bit windy weather, I headed out for class around 9:45 am. Picture of classroom above. The first thing we did was talk about identity. Not just how a person looks, but what they are entitled too as well. Class is an identity, so is culture, race, gender, all of these describe a person and allow them to have certain rights.

Now imagine an entire country fighting in a broken state filled with different ethnic groups, searching for their identity?

That my friends, begets war. All for the sake of people trying to find a place to live and call their own, while others in power aim to prevent that.

We saw a movie in class today about the "12 Day War" in Slovenia. I got a little choked up at the blood shed and got angry at politics because one person it seemed was controlling everything just because they wanted to have someone underneath their thumb. It made me think about blacks and whites in America.

On a happier note, I got to eat a fine dish of Cesar salad that had no leaves, only cheese, cucumbers, green peppers and tomatoes. I was full afterwards. Then I took a nap and I felt refreshed afterwards. Apparently my inner clock is still ticking to some time in the states, because I keep waking up in the middle of the night to go pee. It's a hassle, especially if you sleep on the top bunk. View picture above please.

Later on I didn't go out to eat, but went with some friends to the store and bought things to make. All under 5 Euro, we had rice, chicken and vegetables. Then I had some chocolate covered nuts with caramel for desert :D

Tomorrow we travel to Copper. Should be fun. Food will be there, so I'll be happy.

Chaio!
